We're looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to support our Customer Experience team. You'll be a trusted partner who helps coordinate priorities, manage key business activities and keep the team focused on delivering great outcomes for our community.

As Business Support Officer, you’ll provide high-quality administration and coordination support to the Manager Customer Experience, while also supporting the leadership team and the broader department. You’ll manage busy calendars and inboxes, coordinate meetings and actions and oversee customer correspondence so priorities are handled efficiently, and nothing slips through the cracks.

You’ll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations through document control, budget monitoring, financial processing, meeting agendas and minutes and corporate reporting. You’ll also draft customer and business correspondence, respond to formal information requests and maintain key business systems and records. Beyond administration, you'll contribute to continuous improvement across the department by identifying smarter ways of working, supporting projects and helping strengthen the systems and processes that enable our team to deliver great customer and community outcomes.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

You’re an experienced administration professional who takes pride in creating order, anticipating needs and delivering accurate work. Calm and capable when priorities compete, you can coordinate a busy leadership team, handle confidential information with discretion and follow tasks through to completion. You communicate clearly, build positive relationships with people at all levels and bring a practical, customer-focused approach to solving problems. You’ll also bring:

  • Tertiary/certificate qualifications and/or equivalent experience and qualifications in a relevant discipline such as business administration or office management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a clear and concise writing style.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrate confidentiality, reliability and experience dealing with a wide range of stakeholders at different levels, including the Mayor and councillors, Executive and community members.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, including an ability to manage conflicting work priorities and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire knowledge and new skills, navigate a variety of computer systems, and to adapt to continual changes in process, practice, and technology quickly.
