Seasonal Casual Sales Assistant
About the role
Baby Village is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Casual Sales Assistants. This is a casual position based at our Miranda NSW store, offering flexible working hours to suit your lifestyle.
As a Casual Sales Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and helping parents find the perfect products for their little ones. Your friendly approach and product knowledge will contribute directly to creating a welcoming shopping experience that keeps customers returning to Baby Village.
What you'll be doing
- Greeting customers warmly and providing friendly, helpful assistance throughout their shopping experience
- Demonstrating product features and benefits to help customers make informed purchasing decisions
- Processing transactions accurately at the till and handling cash and card payments
- Maintaining product displays and ensuring the store is clean, tidy and well-organised
- Restocking shelves and checking inventory levels regularly
- Answering customer enquiries about products, pricing and store policies
- Assisting with stock deliveries and unpacking new merchandise
- Supporting promotional activities and seasonal displays
- Working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth store operations
- Following company procedures and maintaining high standards of customer service
What we're looking for
- Excellent customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping people
- Strong communication abilities and a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly according to business needs, must be available at least 1 day of the weekend
- Basic numeracy skills and the ability to operate till systems accurately
- A keen eye for detail when merchandising and maintaining store displays
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights like prams and car seats safely
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn about baby products and childcare items
- Previous retail or customer service experience is beneficial but not essential
