Family Solicitor
If you're a junior lawyer looking to build your Family Law career in a way that is different from the traditional large-team model, this could be a great opportunity. You'll work directly alongside an experienced Partner, attend client meetings from the beginning of your career and gain exposure to complex, high-value Family Law matters well beyond what you might typically expect at this stage.
The firm is looking for someone who is driven, personable and genuinely wants to build a career in Family Law. You don't need years of experience - the team is open to someone very junior and is prepared to invest in developing the right person from the ground up.
About the Role
- Work 1:1 with a Partner and attend client meetings from the outset.
- Gain exposure to complex and contested Family Law matters, particularly property disputes.
- Work on high-value matters, including a strong focus on agriculture and farming.
- Be involved in negotiations, mediations and litigation rather than being limited to junior-level work.
- Take increasing ownership of your own matters as your experience develops.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical, commercially focused Family Law advice with Partner support.
- Assist with and progressively take carriage of files from start to resolution.
- Prepare agreements, court documents, correspondence and legal advice.
- Attend client meetings, negotiations, mediations and litigation with the Partner.
- Build strong client relationships and develop your confidence as a lawyer.
Skills & Experience
- Admitted to practice in Queensland with a current Queensland Practising Certificate.
- Family Law experience is desirable, but seniority is not the priority.
- Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in Family Law.
- Driven, proactive and eager to learn.
- A personable, collaborative approach and a genuine desire to build a long-term career
- Direct Partner exposure and the opportunity to attend every client meeting.
- Work on sophisticated matters significantly earlier in your career than you might in a traditional Family Law team.
