About the role
A Private Higher Education Provider is seeking a passionate and experienced academics to join our team as a Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Associate Professor in Information Technology. These are full-time positions based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide.
This role represents a strategic opportunity to shape the future of technology education and contribute to the development of the next generation of IT professionals. Key responsibilities
Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Information Technology
Develop and continuously update course materials, assessments, and learning resources that reflect current industry practices and emerging technologies
Design and implement innovative teaching methodologies that enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
Conduct scholarly research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications in your area of expertise
Mentor and supervise students undertaking projects, internships, and research initiatives
Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary programs and contribute to curriculum planning
Maintain professional development through attendance at conferences, workshops, and industry engagement
Participate in assessment and quality assurance processes to maintain educational standards
Engage with industry partners and professional bodies to ensure curriculum relevance and graduate employability
Contribute to departmental administrative duties and committee work as required
What we're looking for
A doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
Demonstrated teaching excellence at tertiary level, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in higher education teaching
Strong expertise in one or more core areas of Information Technology, such as software engineering, cybersecurity, data science, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or networks
Evidence of active research contributions, publications in recognised journals or conferences, and engagement in scholarly activities
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences
A commitment to student-centred learning and the capacity to inspire and motivate learners
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Professional certifications or industry experience relevant to your area of specialisation (highly desirable)
Experience in curriculum development, course design, or educational innovation (preferred)
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in higher education (desirable)
