Are you a Financial Accountant who takes pride in getting the details right and enjoys being the go-to finance person for the teams you support?
If so, we'd love to meet you. Join Eureka Group as our Financial Accountant and help us keep our financial records accurate, our month-end on track and our communities thriving.
Why Eureka?
At Eureka Villages, our purpose is to provide comfortable, accessible and authentic places for living that foster stability and a sense of connection. We're redefining community living in Australia by delivering reliable and dignified housing at scale, and we bring that same care and sense of belonging to how we work together.
As our organisation grows, we’re investing in our Group Finance team so that our processes, systems and controls keep pace with the business. It's an exciting time to join us.
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll work closely with our Group Finance Manager, Finance team and Property and Operations teams. You’ll also work with our auditors, the ATO and banking partners.
Our values guide everything we do: we Put People First, Embrace the Challenge, Commit and Follow Up, Act with Purpose and Build Belonging. You’ll be part of a team that values accountability, curiosity and continuous improvement.
What’s the role?
You’ll be responsible for the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial records across your allocated portfolios and entities. You’ll be a trusted finance contact for the people you support, helping them understand their numbers and make good decisions.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing end-to-end accounting for your assigned portfolios, including Joint Venture and Fund entities, from journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany recharges through to accurate cost allocations
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, owning your assigned accounts and resolving reconciling items within agreed timeframes
- Providing clear variance analysis and commentary on portfolio performance against budget and forecast
- Processing and reconciling bank transactions, raising invoices, managing debtor balances and supporting short-term cash flow management
- Assisting with half year and year end audits queries and other Finance related ad hoc tasks
- Preparing and reconciling BAS returns, supporting ABS surveys and helping ensure tax and regulatory compliance across your entities
- Supporting capital expenditure tracking, property-related accounting and fixed asset schedules
- Supporting internal and external audits, and contributing to ERP enhancements, system testing (UAT) and process improvements
What’s in it for you?
At Eureka, our people are our greatest asset, and we want you to enjoy coming to work. You’ll enjoy:
Flexible hybrid working. Three days in the office, two from home. You choose your home days.
Your own portfolios. You’ll take real ownership, with a friendly team there to support you.
Room to grow. You’ll gain broad experience across portfolio accounting, tax, cash management, property and audit, all in a listed-company setting.
A team that connects. We get together for lunch every month. And the snacks are great too!
What’s it like working for Eureka?
No two days are quite the same. One day you might be working through month-end journals and reconciliations. The next, you could be preparing BAS, chatting with an operational leader about their portfolio results, helping with an audit request or finding a smarter way to reduce manual work.
Here, you’re more than someone who processes the numbers. You’ll be trusted, supported and encouraged to grow.
Is this role right for you?
We’re looking for someone with solid technical skills, a great eye for detail and a genuine willingness to learn and contribute. You’ll ideally have:
- At least 3 years' experience in financial accounting, preferably within a ASX listed entity, or a multi-entity or complex organisational environment
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field, and a CPA or CA qualification
- A strong understanding of month-end processes and the ability to prepare high-quality balance sheet reconciliations
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with MYOB or a similar ERP system
- Strong attention to detail, good time management and clear, confident communication skills
- It would be a bonus if you also have experience in property, multi-site or operational environments, exposure to listed or formal governance settings, or experience supporting audits or finance system upgrades. If you don't tick every box, we’d still love to hear from you.
Ready to join Eureka?
If you’re looking for a role where you’ll be supported, valued and given the chance to grow your career within a welcoming team, we’d love to hear from you.
