We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable STEM & Audio-Visual (AV) Education Assistant to join our school community.
This is a diverse and hands-on role that combines STEM learning, digital technologies, practical projects and audio-visual support. You will work alongside our STEM teacher and school leaders to help create engaging learning experiences for students, while also supporting Chapel, assemblies, performances and other school events.

Grace Lutheran Primary School has beautiful modern facilities and is a well‑established, well‑resourced school of around 490 students from Prep to Year 6, with an onsite Early Learning Centre for children aged 2–5 years. We have strong relationships with Grace Lutheran College in Rothwell, which provides education from Years 7–12.
About the Role
Position: STEM & AV Education Assistant
Employment: Part‑time, approximately 26 hours per week
Term: School term time, plus two weeks of staff training (one week in January and one week during the June/July)
Additional hours: Some flexibility is required for events outside normal school hours.
Start Date: Available for an immediate start for the right applicant.
You will play an important role in supporting our students and teachers by:
Preparing and supporting engaging STEM and Digital Technologies activities.
Helping students explore hands‑on projects, design challenges, coding, robotics and other STEM experiences.
Working with individuals and small groups of students under teacher direction.
Setting up, maintaining and organising STEM equipment, resources and learning spaces.
Supporting the safe and effective use of technology, tools and equipment.
Operating audio‑visual equipment for Chapel, assemblies, presentations and performances.
Setting up and operating sound desks, microphones, speakers, projectors and other AV equipment.
Providing technical support for school events and performances.
Undertaking playground and student supervision duties as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about STEM, technology and practical learning, and who enjoys working with primary‑aged students.
You will bring:

Confidence using technology and a practical, problem‑solving approach.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teachers and staff.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage equipment and resources responsibly.
A willingness and ability to learn and operate audio‑visual and sound equipment.
A positive, flexible and helpful approach to school life.
The ability to support students in a safe, respectful and engaging environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Certificate III or higher qualification in a relevant area such as Information or Digital Technology, Audio‑Visual/Media or Education Support, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Current eligibility to work in Australia.
Current Blue Card, or eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
Demonstrated commitment to child safety and wellbeing, with the ability to uphold the school's Child Safe policies, safeguarding practices, Code of Conduct and procedures.
Experience and Skills
Experience or practical skills in one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
Robotics and coding.
3D printing and digital fabrication.
STEM and technology‑based learning.
Sound desks and event AV.
Working with children in a school or educational setting.
Relevant industry experience and practical technical skills.
