About the Role
As a Senior Medical Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy specialist practice while delivering outstanding service to our patients, consultants and referrers.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional, empathetic and confidential customer service to patients both over the phone and in person
Collaborate with the administration team to manage consultant diaries, patient appointments and theatre bookings for 15 specialists
Provide proactive administrative support to allocated consultants, including:
Patient and referring doctor follow-up
Document and records management
Review incoming referrals and coordinate appropriate pre and post-procedure appointments
Process consultation and theatre billing, including Medicare and Private Health Fund claims
Contribute positively to a collaborative and patient-focused team environment
About You
You are an experienced administrator who thrives in a busy medical setting and takes pride in delivering outstanding service while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail.
Minimum 3 years' administration experience, preferably in a medical or specialist practice environment
Professional, friendly and compassionate manner
Strong customer service and communication skills
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks
Strong computer literacy and ability to quickly learn new software systems
Experience managing high volumes of telephone enquiries and follow-up calls
Understanding of the importance of patient privacy and confidentiality
Collaborative team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
Highly Regarded
Experience with Medicare and Private Health Fund billing
Knowledge of specialist consulting and theatre booking processes
