Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant will: Deliver a high standard of care and support to patients at NNDH. Undertake general cleaning of the unit and assist clinical staff where necessary.
The Team
Flinders Island Multi Purpose Centre
- The Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre comprises nine aged care beds, five acute beds, an Outpatient and Emergency service, physiotherapy, x-ray, podiatry/footcare and visiting services.
- Flinders Island is a rural and remote tier one facility well supported by GPs.
- A scenic island with a welcoming community of approximately 900 people.
The Role
- Under supervision, and in accordance with Agency policy, legal, regulatory, and funded program requirements, the Health Care Assistant provides high quality care and support to community and/or facility-based clients and assists with a range of daily living activities that a person would normally do for themselves.

Details of appointment
- Permanent part time, shift worker position, working 32 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join us.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
$65,827 to $68,854 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance withPublic Sector Union Wages Agreement 2025
