Sheet Metal Worker

Hushpak Engineering is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join our team. Based in Boolaroo NSW 2284, this role offers flexibility whilst contributing to high-quality fabrication and assembly projects. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will play a vital role in transforming raw materials into precision components that meet our clients' exact specifications. This position is fundamental to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the trades and services sector, particularly within welding and boilermaking operations.

Key responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications to guide fabrication work
• Measuring, marking and cutting sheet metal using hand tools, power tools and industrial machinery
• Forming, bending and shaping sheet metal components using press brakes, rollers and other fabrication equipment
• Assembling sheet metal parts through welding, riveting, fastening and bonding techniques
• Performing quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure components meet required tolerances and standards
• Operating and maintaining sheet metal working equipment safely and effectively
• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment in accordance with health and safety regulations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker or in a similar fabrication role within the trades industry
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• Competency in operating sheet metal machinery such as press brakes, shears, rollers and bending equipment
• Strong understanding of measurement techniques and ability to work to precise tolerances
• Experience with welding, riveting or other metal joining methods is highly desirable
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to commute to Boolaroo NSW
• Current or willingness to obtain relevant vocational qualifications in sheet metal work or fabrication
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• A solid understanding of workplace health and safety principles and practices
