At Sport Lived we believe in the power of sport to enrich lives. We are a UK company that helps young people travel to Australia to play or coach their favourite sport during their gap year, discovering a new country and building skills for the future. Some join a local Melbourne sports club, others take up a paid coaching placement we arrange for them. All live together in serviced apartments in South Yarra, so they have a ready-made group of friends from day one, and enjoy regular social events, from surf trips to tickets to major sporting events.

We love Melbourne and everything it offers young sports players. We're looking for a freelance Social Media Manager & Content Creator who shares that passion, to run our Instagram and Facebook channels and show the world what a brilliant city Melbourne is to live and play sport. You'll work closely with our Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator in Melbourne, and with a UK team of designers and a copywriter who'll help you create great content.

What you'll do

• Film, photograph and edit engaging content, especially Reels, at training sessions, matches and social events
• Plan and post content on Instagram and Facebook every week, and reply to comments
• Showcase what makes our Melbourne programmes so special: amazing sporting opportunities, a ready-made group of friends, fantastic social events and excellent support on the ground
• Build relationships with our customers so they feel comfortable on camera and share their own photos and videos
• Work with Melbourne photographers and sports clubs to source great content
• Help us grow our audience, with a short monthly report on how things are going

Our customers are mainly 18 or 19, from the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and North America, and for many it's their first big adventure away from home. With over 100 five-star reviews, we want prospective customers and their parents to see what an incredible experience a Sport Lived programme is.

What we're looking for

• Experience managing Instagram and other social media channels for businesses or brands
• Strong skills in filming and editing short-form video on a phone, and taking great photos
• A creative eye, high standards and a feel for what engages young people
• Reliable and organised, able to deliver consistently week after week
• A warm, approachable manner and a broad interest in sport
• Availability for some evening and weekend events
