Job Description

We are seeking a skilled cook to join our team at Bani's Restaurant & Bar in Cowes.

Located at 10 Thompson Ave, Cowes, our Restaurant is a well-established eating place in Cowes. We take pride in providing exceptional food and service to our customers.

\n

We would prefer applicants with a minimum of two years of experience in Greek Cuisine in our fast-paced kitchen, showcasing their skills and creativity.

\nRequirements \n
\n

\n
\n
• Trade Qualification of Certificate III OR IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
\n
\n
• Proven experience as a Cook (minimum 2 years preferred), experience in a similar cuisine(Greek) is preferred
\n
\n
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple orders
\n
\n
• Have a passion for cooking
\n
\n
• Be able to organise production schedules
\n
\n
• Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures
\n
\n
• Able to work well under pressure
\n
\n

\nTasks \n
\n

\n
\n
• Preparing and cooking various food items as per the menu
\n
\n
• Prepare daily production list
\n
\n
• Planning menus
\n
\n
• Estimate and manage stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food wastage
\n
\n
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
\n
\n
• Guiding and giving direction to other kitchen staff
\n
\n
• Ensure that all recipes, food preparations, and presentations meet the business specifications and commitment to quality.
\n
\n
• Ensure that all stations remain stocked before and during the working period.
\n
\n
• Verify that other staff follow all recipes and portion servings correctly
\n
\n
• Ensuring proper sanitisation of working stations, storage area and the entire kitchen area.
\n
\n
• Places food and supplies orders as directed.
\n
\n
• Train kitchen staff and junior staff.
\n
\n
• Organise a kitchen meeting to discuss various problems and provide solutions
\n
\n
• Managing staff levels in the kitchen area
\n
\n

\nSchedule \n
\n

\n
\n
• 8-hour shift (Thursday to Tuesday)- Servicing Hours 12 pm to 9 pm(1st May to 25th December each year)
\n
\n
• 8-hour shift (Wednesday to Tuesday)- Servicing Hours 12 pm to 9 pm (26th Dec to 30th April each year)
\n
\n
