  • Salary range: $75,366 to $82,607 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

The team

Reporting to the Team Lead and embedded in Biological Services, this fixed term position is funded by SAiGENCI, an independent cancer-focused medical research institute embedded within Adelaide University. The role provides dedicated support for SAiGENCI research while also contributing to broader facility operation. The team provides animal care and technical support that enables biomedical research across the University.

Experience

To join our community and thrive in this role, you will likely have the following skills and experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant field with relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Biomedical research animal husbandry, including breeding and barrier or Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) practices.
  • Technical procedures such as injections, venepuncture, biopsies and post-operative care.
  • Familiarity with Animal Ethics Committee (AEC), Institute Biosafety Committee (IBC) and associated facility procedures.
  • The ability to create and maintain accurate written and electronic records.
  • Work health and safety, infection control, sterilisation and aseptic techniques in animal facilities.
  • Support researchers through training in animal handling and facility protocols, while ensuring equipment and supplies are prepared and readily available for operational needs.

You must hold a valid Australian driver’s licence. Evening, weekend and public holiday work, including roster participation, may be required.
