Medicare Mental Health Centre (MMHC) Canterbury is an adult mental health centre offering a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for individuals experiencing distress or crisis. The centre delivers short-to-medium-terms episodes of care, connecting people to ongoing support through service navigation and collaborative care planning.

Join us at an exciting time of growth as we prepare to relocate to a larger, purpose-built centre in Campsie and expand to seven day operations. We're looking for a strategic, influential and adaptable leader who passionate about improving mental health outcomes, empowering teams and building strong community partnerships. This full time opportunity includes participation in an on-call roster and occasional after-hours and weekend work, with flexible working arrangements considered for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee service operations, budget performance, quality and compliance requirements and the achievement of key service targets in line with organisational policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed culture that champions lived and living experience and supports a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, strengthening capability, engagement and professional growth across the service.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with community, clinical and sector stakeholders to enhance collaboration and improve access to support.
- Oversee service budget, performance targets, governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities to ensure sustainable and effective service delivery.

What you’ll bring
- Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or other relevant professions with current registration with the relevant professional body (AHPRA, AASW, PACFA, etc.)
- Proven experience in leadership and capability to coach, mentor and develop a team to achieve best quality service outcomes including experience in the provision of high-quality supervision.
- An understanding of service data and the ability to analyse data to inform service improvement and design.
- High level of organisation skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise, manage multiple complex tasks concurrently, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult, negotiate and influence peers, stakeholders, and government agencies with diplomacy to achieve effective outcomes.
