Join us in shaping healthier futures. Together we can do more.

Be Part of the Journey to a New Hospital

Opportunities to join a health service on the path to opening a brand-new hospital are rare. By joining Shellharbour Hospital now, you'll play an active role in helping shape the future of healthcare delivery in our community as we transition to a state-of-the-art facility in 2027.

Work in Contemporary Clinical Environments

The new Shellharbour Hospital is being designed with patients and staff at its centre, featuring modern clinical spaces, advanced technology, contemporary equipment, and environments that support safe, efficient, and person-centred care.

Help Shape Future Models of Care

This is more than simply moving into a new building. It is an opportunity to contribute to the design of workflows, patient journeys, clinical practice, and innovative models of care that will support generations of patients and healthcare professionals.

Grow With an Expanding Health Service

As services expand within the new facility, exciting opportunities will emerge across a range of specialties, leadership roles, education, quality improvement, and project work. Whether you are looking to develop your clinical expertise or progress your leadership career, there will be opportunities to grow alongside the organisation.

Influence Culture From Day One

Join a team that is building a workplace culture focused on collaboration, innovation, excellence, and staff wellbeing. Early recruits will have the opportunity to influence how teams work together and help establish the values and culture of the new hospital.

Access the Best of Both Worlds

Enjoy a rewarding career in an advanced healthcare facility while living in one of Australia's most desirable coastal regions. Spend less time commuting and more time enjoying beaches, coastal walks, family activities, and everything the Illawarra and South Coast have to offer.

Create the Future of Healthcare at Shellharbour Hospital

Imagine being part of a team that doesn't just work in a new hospital—but helps create it.

Shellharbour Hospital is entering an exciting period of growth as we prepare for the opening of our new state-of-the-art hospital in 2027. We're seeking passionate nurses who want more than a job—they want the opportunity to influence future models of care, embrace innovation, and help shape the culture of a modern healthcare facility from the ground up.

As a member of our team, you'll be part of a once-in-a-generation transformation, working alongside dedicated clinicians in a supportive environment while building the foundations for the next era of healthcare on the South Coast.

Shellharbour Hospital is a busy acute care facility which provides emergency services, elective surgical services, general medicine, antenatal and primary family health care, satellite renal dialysis, and adolescent and adult mental health services on site. It's an accredited healthcare facility with the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHS) and is recognised as providing a high standard of care to the community.

Located on the beautiful South Coast of NSW, Shellharbour is known for its spectacular coastal scenery and is only a little over a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney.
