To meet Australian Medical Council expedited pathway, applicants must meet one of the following UK training routes<\/b>:

Route A — General Internal Medicine (GIM)<\/b>
\n <\/h3>
\n
You must have:

- MRCP (UK)<\/b> awarded August 2007 onwards<\/b>
\n <\/li>
\n - Full UK postgraduate training completed<\/b>
\n <\/li>
\n - Awarded UK CCT in General Internal Medicine<\/b>
\n <\/li>
\n - Completed entire specialty training within the UK system
\n <\/li>
\n <\/ul>
Route B — Dual Training (GIM + Acute Internal Medicine)<\/b>
\n <\/h3>
\nYou must have:
\n <\/p>
\n- \n
- MRCP (UK)<\/b> awarded August 2009 onwards<\/b>
\n <\/li>
\n - Completion of full UK dual training programme
\n <\/li>
\n - CCT in General Internal Medicine and Acute Internal Medicine<\/b>
\n <\/li>
\n - Entire postgraduate training completed within the UK
\n <\/li>
\n <\/ul>
\nThese pathways align with AHPRA Specialist Recognition processes and are suitable for doctors aiming for Specialist Registration in Australia<\/b>.

About the Role<\/b>
\n <\/h2>
\nAs a Staff Specialist in General Medicine, you will:
\n <\/p>
\n- \n
- Provide inpatient and outpatient general medicine services
\n <\/li>
\n - Participate in the acute and on‑call roster (negotiable)
\n <\/li>
\n - Work within a multi‑disciplinary team with strong sub specialty support
\n <\/li>
\n - Contribute to registrar, SHO and medical student teaching
\n <\/li>
\n - Participate in service improvement, clinical governance and leadership
\n <\/li>
\n - Work within an RACP‑accredited training environment
\n <\/li>
\n <\/ul>
\nThe Department hosts physicians with subspecialty interests including Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Geriatrics and Palliative Care.
\n <\/p>
Salary & Benefits<\/b>

\nAUD $216,300 – $310,389 per annum<\/b>, plus:
\n <\/p>

- 12% superannuation
