This opportunity is suited to a highly experienced mechanical design professional supporting a major brownfields expansion within a gold processing operation. The role sits within a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on checking detailed design and providing technical leadership across mineral processing infrastructure on a large-scale open-cut project. Key technical exposure includes crushing, milling, CIL, elution, materials handling systems, vendor data review, and constructability assessments.

Required Experience\n

    \n
  • Extensive experience in detailed mechanical design within gold or base metals projects
  • \n
  • Strong background in brownfields projects or expansions within operating plants
  • \n
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • \n
  • Experience delivering mechanical design packages across crushing, milling, CIL, elution, and materials handling systems EPC project experience
  • \n

Key Accountabilities\n

    \n
  • Degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, or Chemical Engineering.
  • \n
  • 10+ years' experience in piping systems, pipeline design, or water infrastructure engineering.
  • \n
  • Mining, resources, or engineering consultancy experience preferred.
  • \n
  • Develop and review water management strategies and plans across project lifecycles.
  • \n
  • Perform hydraulic modelling and design calculations for pipelines, borefields, pump stations, ponds, and tanks.
  • \n
  • Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, design reports, and engineering documentation.
  • \n
  • Produce construction drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, pipeline schematics, and MTOs.
  • \n
  • Support equipment selection, vendor evaluations, and technical compliance reviews.
  • \n
  • Participate in design reviews, site inspections, and stakeholder engagement.
  • \n
  • Contribute to capital cost estimates and quantity take-offs.
  • \n
  • Coordinate operational readiness and construction support activities.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with Australian standards, regulations, and project requirements.
  • \n
