Quantity Surveyor - Civil Infrastructure


Location: Sydney, NSW.


About the Employer

Our client is an engineering and construction business working across transport, defence and major infrastructure. It combines project delivery expertise with a focus on collaboration, technical improvement and sustainable outcomes.


The Opportunity

Provide quantity surveying and commercial advice for civil infrastructure work in New South Wales. You will support tenders, procurement, project budgeting and construction decisions while developing effective relationships with clients and delivery teams.


Your Responsibilities

• Prepare material take-offs, quantities and part lists for tenders.

• Review contracts and drawings and develop conditions that reduce project risk.

• Advise on claims, progress payments, variations and procurement.

• Support operating and capital budgets and respond to cost variances.

• Resolve design and constructability issues with project managers and clients.

• Assess safety and environmental hazards and promote practical controls.

• Coach team members, prioritise work and improve commercial processes.


Requirements

Skills, Education and Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant discipline.

• Five to ten years of quantity surveying experience in civil contracting.

• Substantial capability with applications such as 12D, Civil CAD or AutoCAD.

• Knowledge of OH&S and employee relations legislation.

• Success in comparable project or business operations management, with team leadership and stakeholder relationship skills.

• Experience preparing budgets, reviewing financial performance and developing business plans.

• Strong planning, organisation and time management.
