Tandy Group is seeking an experienced and reliable On-Road Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Mackay.
\n
This is a hands-on role responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a diverse range of heavy vehicles and equipment across our transport operations. The successful applicant will be required to attend to breakdowns and mechanical issues both at our workshops and on-road, helping to keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently.

Our fleet includes truck and dogs, concrete agitators, semi tippers, flat tops, and crane trucks
Key Responsibilities \n
- \n
- Carry out scheduled servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance \n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns \n
- Attend to on-road breakdowns and carry out repairs where possible \n
- Complete mechanical repairs to heavy vehicles, trailers and associated equipment \n
- Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and safety issues \n
- Carry out fault finding and diagnostics \n
- Complete repairs in a safe, efficient and timely manner \n
- Maintain accurate service and repair records \n
- Work with drivers and management to identify and resolve vehicle issuesEnsure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety requirements and manufacturer specifications \n
- Maintain a clean and organised work area \n
- Assist with general fleet maintenance as required \n
About You \n
The successful applicant will have:

- \n
- Relevant trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter \n
- Experience working on heavy vehicles and trucks \n
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills \n
- Experience with on-road breakdowns and mobile repairs \n
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities \n
- Good communication and problem-solving skills \n
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety \n
- Heavy vehicle licence (HR or higher) would be highly regarded \n
- Ability to work flexible hours and respond to breakdowns when required \n
