Our client is a growing residential builder based in South West Sydney, delivering quality new homes and residential investment projects. With a strong pipeline and continued plans for growth, they are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who understands the construction industry and can take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of the business.

The Role
\n
\n
This isn't a traditional bookkeeping position. You'll work closely with management, suppliers and subcontractors and will need to understand how the financial side of a construction business operates.
\n
\n
Your responsibilities will include:
\n
\n

\nManaging accounts payable and receivable
\n
\nProcessing and coding supplier and subcontractor invoices
\n
\nManaging supplier and subcontractor payments
\n
\nBank and credit card reconciliations
\n
\nPayroll and superannuation administration
\n
\nBAS and GST preparation, working alongside the external accountant
\n
\nMonitoring outstanding invoices and accounts receivable
\n
\nAssisting with cash flow reporting and financial administration
\n
\nTracking project costs and allocating expenses to the correct jobs
\n
\nReviewing invoices against purchase orders and project requirements
\n
\nAssisting with job costing, progress claims and project financials
\n
\nMaintaining supplier and subcontractor records
\n
\nSupporting management with financial reporting
\n
\nIdentifying opportunities to improve financial processes and systems
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n

About You
\n
\n
Construction or trade industry experience is essential for this position. You'll understand the terminology and financial processes involved in working with suppliers, subcontractors, purchase orders, variations, progress claims and project costs.
\n
\n
Ideally, you'll bring:
\n
\n

\nPrevious bookkeeping experience within residential construction, building, trades, development, civil or a closely related industry
\n
\nStrong understanding of job costing and construction-related financial administration
\n
\nExperience with Xero and strong Microsoft Excel skills
\n
\nExcellent attention to detail and financial accuracy
\n
\nConfidence working independently and taking ownership of your role
\n
\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
\n
\nProfessional communication skills when dealing with suppliers, trades and subcontractors
\n
\nA proactive approach and ability to identify discrepancies before they become problems
\n
\n
