Senior Structural Engineer
Job Description
Our client is looking for Civil/Structural Engineers who have a
\n minimum of 6 -7 years’ experience in structural
\n design ideally in consulting environment. Your technical experience is

On behalf of our
\n client, we are looking for a<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> Senior Structural Engineer who will be expected to conduct structural
\n design; complete and review analysis and design calculations; execute and
\n manage the preparation of drawings and specifications; assist with mentoring of
\n junior staff; manage project budgets and schedules; interact with clients; and
\n prepare technical reports.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>
\n
<\/span><\/span><\/b>Some of the duties assigned to (but not limited to) this role
\n include.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/p>
\n
·<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Implement
\n design or analysis tasks in accordance with building code requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>
\n
·<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage
\n major and minor design work from beginning to end.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>
\n
·<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Direct
\n the preparation of calculations, design drawings and specifications, and
\n perform construction administration tasks.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>
\n
·<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Supervise
\n the work of other engineers and CAD technicians. Support work tasks in a team
\n environment and help mentor and develop less experienced engineers.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\n <\/span><\/span><\/p>
\n
·<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist
\n with proposal preparation. Prepare project work plans including tasks, staff
\n time, and fee budgets. Control project fee budgets.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

Requirements<\/h3>\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Minimum
\n of 6 -7 years’ experience in structural design ideally in a consulting
\n environment. <\/span>Proficiency with behavior
\n and performance of materials, especially steelwork, reinforced concrete, timber,
\n and masonry.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>BEng
\n in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Chartered
\n Engineer status or close to completion.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Written
\n and spoken English proficiency.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficient
\n in writing and editing project specifications and technical reports.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong
\n written and oral communication skills.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Demonstrated
\n ability to meet deadlines.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability
\n to work in a team environment.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Work
\n collaboratively on multiple solutions for clients and objectively summarize the
\n benefits and shortfalls of each.<\/span>
\n <\/p>

· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficient
\n in the use of computer analysis software (e.g., SpaceGass, Strand7 or similar
\n programs).<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability
\n to work in and review work in AutoCAD.<\/span>
\n <\/p>
\n
· <\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficient
\n in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office suite software<\/span>
\n <\/p>
