Transport Allocator - PM

We are seeking a motivated, organised and proactive Transport Allocatorto join a growing freight forwarding business, with a strong focus on sea freight operations.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics environment, coordinating transport movements and ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently, safely and on time.
Working closely with our operations, customer service and warehouse teams, you will play a key role in managing the movement of sea freight containers and coordinating deliveries between ports, depots, warehouses and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate transport movements for import and export sea freight shipments.
• Arrange container pickups and deliveries between ports, depots and customer premises.
• Liaise with transport companies, shipping lines, customers and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively manage delays or operational issues.
• Coordinate container unpacking, empty returns and depot bookings.
• Ensure transport bookings, delivery orders and relevant documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Track container movements and ensure deadlines and delivery timeframes are met.
• Assist with resolving transport discrepancies and customer enquiries.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal transport and freight management systems.
• Ensure all transport activities comply with relevant safety, operational and regulatory requirements.

About You

• Previous experience in transport, logistics or freight forwarding is highly regarded.
• Understanding of sea freight operations and container transport is an advantage.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• High attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
• Confident using computers, email and transport or freight management systems.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
