Senior Building Designer

Our client is a Bankstown-based building design and engineering practice providing design and approval services. With an offshore team supporting drawing production, they are seeking a Senior Building Designer to oversee residential documentation, guide staff and maintain high standards across project delivery.
About the role
This position combines hands-on building design with team supervision and technical review. The offshore team completes much of the drafting, while you check their work, approve completed drawings and provide clear feedback where revisions are required.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing residential designs and drawings using Revit and AutoCAD
- Reviewing drawings and documentation for accuracy, completeness and consistency
- Approving work or returning it to the offshore team with instructions for changes
- Preparing documentation primarily for CDC approvals, alongside DA and CC packages
- Overseeing and supporting a small team
- Coordinating design documentation across dual occupancy and multi-dwelling projects
About you
You will bring a building design background, strong residential documentation skills and the confidence to review others' work and guide a team.
You will have
- Proficiency in Revit
- Experience preparing residential designs and approval documentation
- Familiarity with CDC, DA and CC documentation requirements
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify drawing issues
- Clear communication skills to explain revisions and coordinate with offshore staff
- The ability to oversee workloads and maintain drawing quality
