We are a NATA-accredited laboratory servicing Environmental Consultants, Mines, Occupational Hygienists, Government Departments, Industry, and the general public by providing great service and quality.

Description : About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Chemist to join our laboratory team. In this role, you’ll provide technical leadership and hands-on support across laboratory operations, working closely with the Supervisor and Team Leaders to ensure efficient workflows, quality outputs, and compliance with WHSE and ISO standards.

You will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure the accurate delivery of results and exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Support - Assist the Supervisor and Team Leaders with day-to-day lab operations, including workflow management and adherence to protocols.
  • Technical Mentoring - Provide guidance to junior chemists and professional staff, helping to build capability across the team.
  • Client Services & Reporting - Ensure analytical reports meet client expectations and support proactive communication with clients.
  • Quality & Compliance - Support WHSE and ISO standards by contributing to internal audits, continuous improvement, and method validation.
  • Process Improvement - Drive technical improvement initiatives, including new method development and optimisation of existing processes.

Skills and Experiences :

About You

The ideal candidate will have :

  • A degree in Science (Chemistry or related discipline)
  • 8+ years of experience in laboratory testing, preferably environmental
  • Proficient with GC-MS / LC-MS operation and data interpretation.
  • Experience with PFAS data interpretation will be advantageous
  • Facility assigned signatory (NATA) or equivalent.
  • Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and clients
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and attention to detail
