- Partners with senior managers across the Memorial to provide high quality strategic financial, budgetary, and business advice and services
- Proactively analyses financial and business results, independently identifying areas for improvement, and making informed decisions on remedial actions while implementing process enhancements as necessary
This position will initially be filled for a duration of 12 months with the possibility of extension and / or permanency.
Core Responsibilities
- Under limited direction and supervision, deliver a range of high-level functions including :
- Using your technical expertise to provide expert financial advice, guidance and analysis to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer (DCFO), and senior officers of the Memorial.
- Under direction from the Deputy CFO, undertake the preparation of the Memorial's internal budget process, collaborating with budget managers across the Memorial in accordance with the internal Budget Policy.
- Provide internal and external financial reports, including monthly performance reports to senior management and external stakeholders
- Liaise extensively with Portfolio Agency and Department of Finance to ensure effective financial management information are provided to the DCFO and contribute to the preparation of the budget estimates.
- Provide any other adhoc support to the DCFO as required in the management of various budget and finance matters.
Position Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
