About the Role and your Responsibilities :
Your role as a Disability Support Worker is to support clients to remain living at home through the promotion of independence and choice. Helping clients develop life skills, interaction in social activities and provide companionship.You will uphold their dignity, respect, privacy and confidentiality at all times and ensuring they receive quality services that meet their assessed needs. Duties may include;
Providing all personal care including showering, toileting, grooming, household tasks including cleaning and washing clothes.Managing challenging behaviours.Following the client's established daily routine consistently.Providing social and community accessActively engaging with the participant in activities in the home and communityData collecting and work with the participant to reach their goals consistentlyMonitoring the well-being of customers and reporting on their progressProviding Domestic AssistanceParticipating in staff meetings and attending training as required and any other activities specified by their individual care plansSkills and Qualifications :
Certificate III in Disability or other relevant qualificationMinimum 18 months relevant experience working in the disabilities sector
Experience working with Positive Behavioral Support PlansRestrictive practice experienceTrained to administer medication is desirableKnowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement principlesExperience in the delivery of personal care services and / or challenging behavioursWell-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionalsUnderstanding of privacy and confidentiality issuesAbility to work in a very busy environment and to work both independently and as a part of a teamOwn registered vehicle and current driver licenseNDIS worker’s checkNational Police Check - OptionalCurrent Working with children’s checkValid First Aid & CPR certificateBlue CardCovid Vaccination Certificate (showing vaccination dates)Benefits :
