About The NDIS Quality And Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission)

The NDIS Commission is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services. It is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia.

We work with NDIS participants, service providers, workers and the community to ensure participants have choice, control and dignity when accessing high‑quality supports and services in safe environments. More information on who we are and what we do is available on our website.

The NDIS Commission is seeking a skilled and proven Assistant Director, Program Personnel and Vendor Management, to support the delivery of the DART Program, reporting to the Director of the DART Program Management Office.

It involves working closely with delivery teams and suppliers to ensure vendor and procurement activities are well-planned, compliant, and delivered on time and within scope.

The role will oversee contract performance, monitor milestones and deliverables, and ensure suppliers meet the Commission’s expectations. It also supports coordination across the DART Program and Corporate teams to ensure procurement and contract management activities are aligned and effective.

This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills to contribute to a nationally significant transformation program in a fast‑paced and collaborative environment.

The role will provide high-level personnel and procurement support to the Director, Program Management Office, including coordinating procurement activities, facilitating vendor arrangements and relationships, and monitoring personnel activities and contract performance across multiple workstreams.

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Provide expert, timely and strategic advice and support on Commonwealth Procurement Rules and Frameworks including the DTA and IT sourcing arrangements and policies.
  • Oversee end-to-end procurement processes and documentation in collaboration with Program team members.
  • Provide specialist procurement, vendor and personnel management advice and assistance to project teams, evaluation committees and senior executives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, vendors, partners, and other stakeholders, ensuring terms align with company objectives and provide favourable conditions.
  • Ensure processes appropriately monitor contract expenditure and expiry dates are proactively managed.
  • Build and maintain critical relationships with legal and finance teams, while monitoring contract compliance, ensuring terms and conditions are adhered to.
  • Identify potential risks within procurements and contracts, including financial, operational, and reputational risks, and work with the relevant DART and Commission personnel to execute and implement risk mitigation strategies.
