APS4 Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Officer role within Federal Government AgencyContract Term : 12 Months plus possible extensionHybrid working option (Maximum 2 days working from home)Our client is seeking for an APS4 Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Officer to perform procedural, clerical, administrative and operational tasks that supports and contributes to the agency's objectives.
About the Role :
The APS4 Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Officer is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. It will provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation.
The APS4 Ministerial and Parliamentary Support Officer will be responsible for ensuring that ministerial documents prepared by the agency are fit-for-purpose, meet the content requirements of the task and are aligned with ministerial style and preferences.
The role will have a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and will be required to communicate with and provide advice on a range of matters to resolve moderately complex to complex enquiries.
Key Responsibilities :
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
- Proofing and editing ministerial correspondence, submissions and briefs prior to ministerial consideration to ensure they meet ministerial requirements for style, preferences and content.
- Monitoring, collating, reporting and communicating feedback from the quality assurance process to NDIA drafting and clearing officers to build the NDIA's ministerial writing capability.
- Coordinating Community of Practices to build capability and internal stakeholder confidence with ministerial and parliamentary practices.
- Coordinating and drafting input from across the NDIA to develop reports and input to portfolio responses.
- Coordinating, drafting and quality checking Briefs, Ministerial Correspondence, Questions on Notice and Senate Briefs using the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
- Contributing to the branch's corporate work program, reporting requirements and assist deliver branch governance obligations.
