Job description

Veterinarian. Port Lincoln. Australia up to $140k DOE

The thought of practicing veterinary abroad has always excited you.

The outdoor lifestyle, the mountains, the beaches, the Aussie way of life has had you dreaming about moving to Australia for a long time.

But, you are worried about making that big decision and don’t want more of the same 10,000 miles from home!

What if we knew of a practice without those silly targets, a welcoming team where vets are free to work on their own cases, a practice with a loyal client base who are respectful and understanding of what you do, because they’ve been coming to you for years?

Well, you're in luck as we do, and this one is hiring.

A modern independent practice based in Port Lincoln is recruiting for a veterinarian to join its team. Client make up is 80% smallies, 10% Equine, and a sprinkling of sheep and cattle. If you want to stick to smallies, that is just fine.

They are looking for a 3 year plus vet but it's the person they are after the most. An emphatic vet, a real team player who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in right from the start.

This isn’t a practice that cuts corners; they have a team of experienced vets and nurses working in a relaxed, friendly environment together, doing what is right for the patient and practice. With a strong emphasis on providing a high level of service and ensuring an excellent client experience you can see why they have dozens of 5 star reviews on Google.

Everyone has a voice here, they share opinions, thoughts, case studies, and hold discussions. Your opinion is valued, and your voice is heard.

You can expect a varied caseload with a good mix of consults and surgery, owning your cases, and seeing them through. They have some pretty busy stretches and work on fairly complex cases, so somebody who is resilient is a big plus. You have 15 minutes for vaccinations and 30 mins for everything else, no production line consults here.

Ideally, it’s a 4 days a week with a 1 in 4 weekend rota, but they are super flexible and happy to work with you.

So, what’s in it for you?

Up to $140k DOE. 70% of fees on all emergencies. VSBSA reg paid for, staff discounts and an Employee Assistance Programme. They also offer a comprehensive CPD allowance of $2000, they’re interested in improving all their team and investing in them because it’s mutually beneficial.

Based in the coastal paradise of Port Lincoln, you have surfing beaches, bars, restaurants, sailing, fishing, camping, live music, national parks, an array of different sports, and with Adelaide only 50mins away by plane, what’s not to like?

So, what’s next?

Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad, so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.

Enjoy being a vet again on the other side of the world.
