Job description

Exciting opportunity exists for a Project Manager to join the Victorian Government's biggest shared service operation. The Common Corporate Support Branch (CCSB) provides corporate services and associated systems to the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) and the Department of Health (DH) under a shared services arrangement. While we're administratively housed within the Department of Health, CCSB forms part of the corporate services delivery capability of both departments. The Project Manager works closely with the Manager, Accommodation Services to lead the planning, development, coordination and implementation of key CBD accommodation projects.

About the role :

You will be Working closely with external service providers, consultants and stakeholders, this role will predominantly plan and deliver CBD consolidation projects for both Departments within a client-focused environment.

The role is a combination of data analytics, construction management, IT infrastructure planning and stakeholder engagement

This position will also require flexibility to undertake non-construction projects as required.

How you'll make a difference :

  • Project manage the delivery of capital works / office fitout projects including IT infrastructure planning.
  • Closely monitor and effectively manage key project elements such as time, scope, cost and risk.
  • Manage consultants, contractors Consultant and contractor management, project budget forecasting, monitoring and performance reporting.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and expenditure, project cashflow and forecasting and report to key stakeholders and the CCS Branch on all accommodation projects managed by the Accommodation Services team.
  • Provide timely expert advice and develop open and effective communication strategies including collection of highly complex, contentious or sensitive information on matters of staff or business.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Proactively resolve problems and facilitate positive outcomes.
  • Identify and provide timely expert quality advice on issues affecting projects.
  • Conduct post occupancy reviews and project reviews and advise on improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of organisational change management activities across the department as it pertains to the adoption of the flexible and hybrid ways of working.
  • Provide professional leadership and guidance to DFFH and DH staff on office management procedures, policy and procedural guidelines and other administrative and general office functions.
  • Contribute advanced expertise and knowledge to benefit strategic planning and organisation / sector-wide outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and facilitate the flow of information across the department and with key external stakeholders.

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate :

  • Proven track record of leading successful projects within large and complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a project management client-focused environment.
  • High level skills, knowledge or experience in delivering construction / office fitout projects is highly desirable.
