When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life? It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in the Dunnstown, Lal Lal, Elaine, Mount Egerton, Springbank VIC area.

  • Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

    • In addition, you will need

  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  • Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

    • The role

    In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as :

  • General housekeeping and making beds.
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

    • You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as :

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
  • Assisting clients to take their medications.
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
  • Providing social and emotional support.
  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
