Full-time, Ongoing Position

Sydney's International Grammar School (IGS) is an independent, coeducational, secular school offering quality teaching from Early Learning to Year 12. At the IGS Early Learning Centre our qualified, dedicated, and passionate teachers and educators love what they do and embrace diversity and celebrate personal achievement. We are seeking a highly motivated Educator to join our dynamic early learning program for children aged 3-5 years to explore and discover their world and support the joy of learning another language as part of our immersive language program.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the foundations of a lifelong love of learning and embed German language learning opportunities through an immersive and intentional language program within the daily curriculum of the Centre.
  • Work alongside an extraordinary team of Early Childhood Teachers and Educators.
  • Engage with children aged 3-5 years to support discovery and language learning.

Qualifications

  • ACECQA recognised Certificate III or Diploma in Early Education and Care
  • Current ACECQA approved first aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma certifications or willingness to obtain
  • Current ACECQA approved Child Protection training or willingness to obtain
  • Fluency in German and strong understanding of German culture
  • Availability to work between 7.00am - 6.00pm; shifts on the ELC roster typically 7.20am to 6.10pm
  • Understanding of current early education and care legislation and regulations including the EYLF and NQS
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Demonstrated strengths-based approach in working with children and their families
  • Sound ICT skills
