Registered Nurse : $72,152.52 - $101,299.47 per annum

Social Worker or Occupational Therapist Level 1 / 2 : $73,427.00 – $104,753.00 per annum

NBMLHD Community Mental Health offer a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

Join our dedicated Homelessness Mental Health Team, where your work will directly impact the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver timely, person-centred assessments and interventions to a diverse caseload, helping restore hope and stability to those most in need.

In this critical and rewarding role, you'll apply recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practices while actively strengthening partnerships with mental health services and housing providers to ensure holistic support for each individual.

We are seeking a passionate professional who can deliver comprehensive mental health care within their professional scope. You’ll coordinate tailored support services, participate in multidisciplinary reviews, and contribute to team learning through case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing educational activities.

What You Will Bring To The Role

  • Current registration as Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) including completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or for Social Workers eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health assessments, providing care to people with mental health issues together with demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act and related legislation.
  • Demonstrated reasoning skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team as well as the ability to work effectively with service partners to support consumers’ recovery.
  • An understanding of recovery orientated care with demonstrated ability to meaningfully collaborate with consumers and their family and carers regarding mental health service provision.
  • Able to participate as a member of the team in quality improvement strategies, development of policies and procedures and clinical research.
  • Excellent level of verbal / written communication skills, analytical and interpersonal skills and the ability to apply these skills.
  • Computer competency including demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of information technology systems used in Health settings.
  • Current Driver’s License and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
  • Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
