Overview

Are you a highly motivated Registered Nurse ready to undertake this key leadership role? The After-Hours Hospital Coordinator is a pivotal member of the health care team providing after hours’ leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital. We specialise in fostering a dynamic, team-based environment, which is reflected in the best clinical care and warm caring environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
  • Provide leadership across the facility
  • Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) and heads of departments
  • Ensure all areas are staffed according to patient acuity and appropriate skill mix
  • Coordinate patient admissions
  • Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff
  • Manage multiple tasks and allocate resources appropriately

Qualifications

  • Current unconditional AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Recent experience with the coordination and allocation of human resources within identified KPI’s
  • A high degree of computer literacy including MS Office and Patient Management Software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with advanced problem solving and decision making abilities to ensure excellence in patient centred care and customer service
  • Be a role model for safe practice and commitment to quality patient care
  • Ability to apply the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards to clinical decision making
  • Understanding of Private Hospital Funding Models
  • Well-developed leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of a multi-disciplinary workforce
  • The ability establish and maintain rapport with external referral providers
  • The ability to act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, their families and colleagues
  • The ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios
  • Current ALS Certification
