Your Opportunity

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of THL, is a global coalition of approximately 90 animal protection organizations across 70+ countries. We focus on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure wins for animals, with a focus on institutional campaigning tailored to member needs.

As the OWA Asia-Pacific Corporate Strategy Lead, you will :

Provide guidance on corporate campaigning and engagement for the OWA in the Asia-Pacific region (Asia, Australia, and New Zealand).

Build relationships with OWA member groups and provide advice and training to develop their knowledge and skills in corporate advocacy to secure impactful corporate commitments for animals.

Collaborate with organizations across the Asia-Pacific to maximize impact and remove the worst forms of animal suffering from company supply chains.

This position reports to the OWA Asia-Pacific Regional Manager. This is a full-time, remote role with travel requirements and some hours outside 9am-5pm for collaboration with global team members.

Location and Work Arrangements

This position can be based in Vietnam, India, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, or Singapore. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in one of these countries and reside there while undertaking this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on corporate engagement and campaigns to OWA groups in the Asia-Pacific region and collaborate to troubleshoot issues.
  • Support OWA groups to adapt campaign tactics to different local / regional contexts in the Asia-Pacific region. Co-lead regional campaigns with OWA groups.
  • Lead in-person and virtual training for OWA groups on corporate engagement and campaigning.
  • Build strong relationships and trust with OWA groups, and establish a reputation as a strategic thinker.
  • Develop resources and training materials to empower OWA groups.
  • Attend high-value corporate meetings and campaign actions.

Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with successful corporate engagement and / or campaigns, including strategy development and execution.
  • Strategic thinking and problem solving : ability to identify opportunities, innovate tactics, evaluate options, anticipate obstacles, and secure commitments from companies.
  • Initiative, proactivity, and adaptability : ability to work independently with strong ownership over goals.
  • Verbal and written communication : ability to communicate effectively across cultures and lead training sessions as a subject matter expert.
  • Collaboration and interpersonal skills : strong relationship-building and conflict-resolution abilities; ability to work with diverse audiences.
  • Time management and prioritization : handle competing demands effectively.
  • Global perspective : consider diverse cultural, linguistic, and political contexts to maximize impact.
  • Mission alignment : deep commitment to THL’s mission and familiarity with animal protection or related advocacy in the Asia-Pacific region.
