  • The role
  • An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Manager to join the organisation on a 12-month fixed term contract. In a high-performing culture, you will report directly into the Head of Finance. The role is available on a full-time basis for approx. 12 months with flexibility to work from home.

    You will be responsible for the delivery of fortnightly and monthly payroll in a timely, accurate and efficient manner for all staff. In addition, key responsibilities will include :

  • Coordinate and delivery of processing payroll and all key functions relating to the payment of employees, including terminations
  • Manage and maintain all documentation and records pertaining to payroll
  • Provide special purpose reporting to Senior Management on payroll data
  • Manage the process of leave workflows and authorised amendments to salaries and wages
  • Follow-up outstanding timesheets and leave requests
  • Efficiently manage payroll workload, seeking assistance where required
  • Identify and implement payroll process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Single Touch Payroll
  • Ensure payroll team addresses all employee payroll queries within an acceptable timeframe
  • Liaise with the People & Culture & Workplace Relations teams on a regular basis to ensure accuracy
  • Ensure that all statutory-related payroll compliance is adhered to on a timely basis
  • Manage / produce payroll tax reconciliations
  • Ensure appropriate development of Payroll Officers
  • Ad-hoc project work
  • In order to be successful in this position, you will be capable of building strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and possess excellent interpersonal skills. The following will be looked upon favourably :

  • Relevant payroll experience, preferably in a medium-large environment with a large casual workforce
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong Excel and payroll systems skills
  • Stakeholder management experience across all levels
  • Outstanding communication skills
