Risk and Insurance Officer (Part time opportunity)

About the Opportunity

An integral team part of the Risk team, the Risk and Insurance Officer will liaise with the community and staff to manage incidents, complaints and claims related to property, motor vehicle, public liability and professional indemnity. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate review of community concerns and associated insurance claims which may result. Continuous improvement in service delivery will be an outcome from investigations of incidents and the management of these in the risk system. You will assist in the insurance renewal process and in engaging the organisation in the management of risk. This position offers onsite and flexible working arrangements.

This role is a permanent, part-time opportunity (FTE 0.60 - 45.60 hours per fortnight). Remuneration begins at $91.6K to $99.6K (Band 6) pro rata plus superannuation.

About You

You are customer focused, with great analytical skills and an ability to drive continuous improvement across the organisation. You are able to manage conflicting priorities, being aware of deadlines and accountability and demonstrate an ability to manage conflict. You have excellent communication, record keeping and writing skills, and enjoy working with data to implement change.

You will have several years' relevant insurance, risk management or quality management experience and may hold formal qualifications in Risk and are willing to learn more about risk in a local government environment.
