Brooks – Laboratory Automation Solutions (LAS), our clinical diagnostic division, specialise in the design and manufacture of compact, innovative benchtop automation for optimising pre‑ and post‑analytical workflows in pathology and analytical laboratories. We’re looking for a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team and help drive innovation in laboratory automation. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge solutions that support the medical industry and improve lives around the world.

As part of our dynamic and collaborative environment, you’ll play a key role in designing and developing products that truly make a difference.

What you’ll do

• Be a lead in the design and development of high‑quality automation solutions, including concept design, detailed CAD models using PTC Creo, 2D manufacturing drawings, prototype builds, testing, validation, and transfer to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, customers, and suppliers to drive new product development and support the existing product range.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation to support design, manufacturing, and compliance requirements.
• Prototype and test mechanical designs to ensure performance, reliability, and adherence to industry standards.
• Support manufacturing and assembly, providing hands‑on technical guidance and resolving design‑related issues.
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to foster growth and innovation within the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
