The Opportunity

The Building Services Manager will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including the Regional Asset Manager, Head of Maintenance, project managers, village managers and maintenance officers to act as a key resource in ensuring the continued flow of communication as the organisation goes through a significant period of change, including the implementation of a strategic asset management plan and rollout of new technology, contracts and processes.

The role of Building Services Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of aged care and retirement living assets and ensure that safety and compliance, essential services, minor and major projects are being delivered to cost and deadline in a consistent manner utilising the streamlined systems and protocols that are currently being implemented across the organisation.

Ensuring long term success in this role will require the focus and determination of an individual that can work under immense pressure and at times, frustration, as the organisation goes through major change. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong experience managing building portfolio’s and delivering FM operations and asset lifecycle management programs.

The building services managers play an instrumental role in enriching the lives of both the residents and the employees at each asset and this will take the skills of an experienced facilities management professional combined with a passion to always deliver high calibre work, and importantly a desire to enhance the lives of others. There will be a high level of administrative responsibilities, including monthly financial reporting and collecting and digitising asset data.

The Candidate

Suitable candidates will demonstrate previous experience managing multi-site asset portfolio’s where there has been a strong site presence and daily direct interface with varied stakeholders, including customers, contractors and management. Previous experience and existing knowledge of regulatory codes in the retirement living and aged care sectors would be highly beneficial.

Candidate will show a high level of administrative capability, including strong usage of CMMS platforms, strict adherence to completing work order request and compliance checklists, detailed financial and productivity reports and compiling large volumes of asset data.

Strong building services knowledge will be essential, including managing routine maintenance programs across mechanical, electrical and plumbing services. In addition, experience in mapping and overseeing lifecycle programs will be required. The role will play a key part in scoping and delivering refurbishments and minor capital projects to strict timelines and strong project management expertise is a must.

We’re looking for a candidate with proven the proven experience of part of large-scale organisational transformation phases, whilst offering exceptional expertise in Facilities Management and Asset Services and the communication skills to engage and influence a wide stakeholder audience.
