Kaizen is partnering exclusively with a leading global investment firm with a significant Real Estate platform across Australia, with a portfolio consisting primarily of office and retail properties, split across several funds.

About the Role

As Head of Tax, you will be responsible for the development and execution of tax strategy, planning, and risk management across the firm’s Australian real estate investments. This includes oversight of tax matters for multiple funds and corporate structures, M&A transactions, compliance, and reporting. You will work closely with both local and international teams, as well as external advisors, to ensure robust tax governance and strategic alignment.

This role is ideal for a senior tax expert looking to expand their leadership profile within a global, fast-paced business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the tax planning and strategy function across the Australian real estate business.
• Manage tax structuring and due diligence for M&A activity.
• Advise senior management on tax-related matters, risks, and opportunities.
• Provide tax guidance and support to Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Investment teams.
• Oversee external tax advisors and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Coordinate the preparation of transfer pricing documentation.
• Monitor and report on tax risks, legislation changes, and regional developments.
• Manage all aspects of tax compliance and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with global tax teams on cross-border structures and compliance.
• Lead and mentor a team of local tax professionals.
