About the Role
My client, a creative communication (design) agency, is looking for a Finance Manager to oversee the financial health of their growing group of creative businesses. The role includes back‑up office management tasks such as obtaining costings / quotes, booking events, overseeing reception, ordering office supplies and other ad hoc admin duties as required.
This is a busy role and you’ll need to be able to work autonomously in a deadline‑driven environment and have outstanding communication skills with a strong work ethic. You’ll need to be a self‑starter who can take initiative and work closely with the owner and the external accountant.
Overseeing the finances, you’ll manage financial operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate reporting, healthy cash flow, and effective budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions using XERO and Streamtime
- Prepare and present financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Monitor and manage cash flow, payroll, expenses, and debtors
- Develop financial forecasts and advise on minimising financial risk
- Maintain and improve reporting systems including Wayahead and Monday.com
- Oversee office administration, policies, and supplier engagement
- Lead budget planning, cash flow management, and financial reporting
- Manage payroll, invoicing, BAS, expenses, and compliance tasks
- Provide financial advice to the Managing Director and senior team
- Support office operations and HR admin processes as needed
- Work alongside external accountants to ensure finances are on track
- Assist the accountant with BAS and tax returns
What You’ll Need
