About Cairns Health Centre

Cairns Health Centre is located at HMAS Cairns, on the northern shore of Trinity Inlet and close to the CBD of Cairns. Members mainly conduct border controls and responsibility extending from Rockhampton to Thursday Island, providing maintenance, logistic and administrative support for Cairns fleet-based units. The base is home to approximately 1000 Navy and civilian personnel providing primary medical, underwater medicine, dental, nursing, and mental health services. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 07:00 to 16:30 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.

We are seeking someone to work casual days at Cairns Health Centre.

What You Will Do

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• Occ Med environment
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment
• Conduct fitness‑for‑defence assessments and pre/post‑deployment care
• Provide medical advice to Defence health leadership

What You Bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient‑centred care

Additional Information

• Provide Occupational Medicine services
• Civilian role – no enlistment required
