We’re looking for experienced Leading Hand to join our team in Middlemount to support the continued growth of the team and customer relationships. This role is a 7 / 7 Alternating position.

What you’ll be doing

As a Leading Hand at Hastings Deering, you will :

Lead with purpose and accountability — Actively guide employees to elevate performance.

Build capability at every level — Train, coach, and mentor team members for continuous growth.

Drive operational excellence — Plan and organise work for maximum efficiency.

Maintain uncompromising standards — Monitor job quality and efficiency, ensuring work orders are accurate.

Deliver on commitments — Ensure tradespersons complete work within agreed timeframes.

Shape technical mastery — Provide expert guidance when required.

Stay ahead of risks — Proactively identify issues affecting job quality, safety, or efficiency.

Champion continuous improvement — Report defects and unsatisfactory practices to support better outcomes.

A successful teammate will have experience in :

Experience that counts – previous experience leading, mentoring and supporting other Fitters

Team player – able to work well with others as well as independently when required.
