  • Academic Level D : $155,180 - $170,518 + 17% superannuation contributions.
  • Academic Level E : $198,653 + 17% superannuation contributions.

What you can achieve

Based at our state-of-the-art clinical teaching facilities in Townsville or Cairns you will lead a vibrant and dynamic academic community with opportunities for significant impact. Your role will involve developing and delivering high-quality nursing and midwifery programs, conducting and leading innovative research and mentoring and supporting academic staff and students in their professional and academic development.  Additionally, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals, industry partners, and community organizations to enhance educational, research and clinical outcomes for those living in regional, rural and remote areas.

For the first three years, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for nursing and midwifery courses through Academic Group Head- Nursing and Midwifery role deployment. As Academic Head you will support the development of academic staff to create a strong pipeline of future nursing and midwifery academic leaders to create excellent learning experiences, strong industry partnerships and impactful research and scholarship.

About you

With a postgraduate qualification and current registration as a Nurse (Division 1) and / or midwife with AHPRA, you will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and service within the College of Healthcare Sciences. The successful candidate will drive excellence in nursing and midwifery education, foster innovative research, and contribute to the strategic goals of the university.  As a passionate clinician and academic, you are motivated by realising outcomes through your research and teaching and giving back to your profession through not only your achievements, but through those of your students, colleagues and clinicians.
