The Role
Here at the Forensic Hospital, the Registered Nurse is responsible for providing the day-to-day mental health and physical health care requirements of patients. This must be in line with the principles of recovery and forensic mental health rehabilitation. The RN must integrate therapeutic goals with security requirements through constant appraisal of organisational processes and nurse-patient relationships to ensure that opportunities for therapeutic endeavour are maximised.
We are looking for a healthcare professional with current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Someone who is a minimum RN Year 2, who has either completed a Mental Health Transition Program, or has demonstrated mental health nursing experience in Australia or an equivalent health system.
