We are a local, family-owned aviation business with bases across the Northern Territory. Our main office is in Katherine. Our diverse fleet includes helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft and we are the leading provider for the pastoral, mining and gas and private sector, as well as serving government and emergency response needs throughout the Northern Territory and beyond. We are seeking a proficient Group Accountant to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview :

This newly established position is perfect for an accounting professional who thrives on both the technical aspects of finance and delivering insights that drive strategic business decisions. It presents a unique opportunity to take on a diverse, hands-on role while playing a key part in the dynamic growth of a high-performing organisation.

The role is based on a four to five-day weekly schedule, our head office is located in Katherine, Northern Territory however there is capacity for the role to be remote for the right candidate with periodic site visits.

Key Responsibilities :

• Oversee and support the accounts team ensuring its smooth operation
• Review accuracy of transactions processed by the accounts team
• Payroll processing and management
• Management of accounts receivables and payable’s function including reconciliation
• Assist with cash flow management, including debt collection
• Prepare and process monthly journals
• Prepare accurate and timely financial and management reports
• Lead month-end close and reconciliation processes
• Maintain and develop financial models, budgets and rolling forecasts
• Provide variance analysis and deliver commercial insights to the business
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support decision-making across departments
• Process financial transactions for smaller companies in Xero
• Carry out regular reporting to company directors on project progress and business performance
