Residential Care Worker

We’re growing in Ipswich, bringing together a passionate team in Children, Youth and Family Services who provide care, guidance, and support to help young people build confidence, independence, and connection.

As a valued member of our Kanda team, you will :

• Provide hands‑on care and guidance to young people in a safe and supportive home environment where young people can grow, learn and thrive.
• Help create and follow individual care plans tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.
• Support young people with daily living activities and support their understanding of self‑care, education and recreational activities.
• Build trusting relationships by offering encouragement, stability, safety and emotional support.
• Keep accurate and professional records and documentation.

• Comprehensive training and ongoing development, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and The Sanctuary Model.
• Bring flexibility to your week by working a mix of day, evening and sleepover shifts ( 6 : 00am – 2 : 00pm, 2 : 00pm – 10 : 00pm, and 10 : 00pm – 6 : 00am ). Shift times may vary, providing variety and work‑life balance.
• Wellbeing support through the Sonder app, free 24 / 7 confidential support and resources.

To join our team, you’ll need :

• A current driver’s licence (Minimum of a P2)
• A Working with Children Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or be eligible to obtain these).
• Have completed, or are willing to enrol in, a Certificate IV, Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with young people or in related areas (disability, mental health, aged care, childcare) is preferred, but not required – we welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow.
