About the role

The Virtual Emergency Care Service (VECS) is a model of care adopted by Queensland Health to explore and develop alternate, virtual patient pathways for Specialist Emergency Care to physical attendance in an Emergency Department.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values :

  • Ensure appropriate recruitment, retention, and rostering of the VECS medical staff in consultation with the Clinical Director
  • As required, to supervise medical staff assigned to the Virtual Emergency Care Service.
  • Manage operational issues in VECS, as they arise and pertain to medical officers, in consultation with the CD.
  • To assist the CD in providing overall clinical governance and operational management of services as required to manage a comprehensive clinical service within Virtual Emergency Care Service.
  • To provide expert medical strategic and operational leadership, along with the CD of VECS.
