Under the broad direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary DRSM team to provide a supervisory role in the delivery of the RPL service. You will :
- Provide leadership, clinical expertise and independently perform respiratory diagnostic testing.
- Independently supervise staff performing routine, complex and novel respiratory physiology measurements according to procedures and standards for both paediatric and adult populations.
- Facilitate the daily patient workflow through the laboratory service to meet operational requirements and demand.
- Initiate evidence-based and patient-centered clinical practice including active involvement in both research and development of clinical guidelines and procedures.
- Supervise education, learning frameworks and support clinical supervision of both staff and students in the respiratory science discipline, including facilitating continual professional development (CPD) programs within the respiratory scientist group.
- Maintain and develop documentation for the purposes of accreditation including introduction of new methodologies to RPL.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
