We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a special interest in mechanics and ideally previous experience in machine workshops or machinery operations. Working alongside our Sydney Workshop team, the Trades Assistant role assists the efficient operations of our workshop so that we can deliver timely service and repairs of GSE equipment to our customers.

4 days on 4 days off (rolling day shift)

Position Requirements :

High school certificate or equivalent education certificate; one to three months related experience and or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous mechanical experience is highly desirable

Welding experience is highly desirable

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and develop.

Hold a current national Manual “C” class driver’s license; and

Hold a current “MR” class driver’s license (desirable)

Forklift certificate (desirable)

Must be keen and enthusiastic

Willing to undergo a full medical examination

Willing to undertake ASIC background checks for a security pass

Position Description :

Assisting qualified mechanics to perform minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment in a timely manner

Pickup and delivery of spare parts

Packaging and sending of freight

Receiving and stocking new parts

General yard / workshop cleaning and maintenance

Workshop and equipment cleaning

Store duties as and when required

Performing other general, non-trades services as directed
