In‑House Legal Counsel (Competition Lawyer), 12 Month Contract

About the Role

Join one of Australia’s best‑known retail groups and be part of a collaborative, forward‑looking legal team driving change in a fast‑moving industry. Our client is looking for a Competition Lawyer, ideally on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract (day rate may be considered) to support the business with upcoming regulatory changes coming into effect in the new year. You’ll help shape internal processes, manage ACCC submissions and advise on transactions under the new framework.

This role will suit someone willing to be hands‑on, project‑focused and ideal for someone curious, adaptable and ready to work in a fast‑evolving regulatory space. This is a hybrid arrangement‑ 3 days a week onsite.

Key Responsibilities :

• Advise on transactions requiring ACCC approval.
• Prepare and manage regulatory submissions.
• Help design processes and templates for the new regime.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver practical legal advice.
